1. OU vs. Texas (October 12)

The Red River Rivalry is held each year on the neutral(ish) ground of the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. A bonus of this game is that it’s always held during the Texas State Fair, so before and after witnessing the spectacle of this decades-old rivalry, you can stuff your face silly with all manner of deep-fried goodness. Football, fat, and livestock — what could be more American than that?

Known as the Egg Bowl, this annual matchup will take place on Thanksgiving this year, for the first time since 2003. What does that mean for you? Well, it means that if you want to skip out on family time because you know you’re going to see those yahoos in just a few weeks over the Christmas holidays, then this is your chance!

3. Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines

A lot of folks consider this annual matchup to be the rivalry of rivalries, un– well, unrivaled– in all of sport. (In 2000, it was ranked by ESPN as the greatest sports rivalry.) Known by many simply as “The Game,” this one takes place in Ann Arbor on November 30 this year. Which is your favorite of the college football rivalries?
