Last week, we highlighted a few possible summer destinations for you to visit in your RV. This week, we haaaaaave (drum roll,
please)…MORE OF THE SAME! “Oh, darn!” you must be thinking. “Even more summer travel ideas? How could he subject us to more daydreams of getting away from it all for a few days?” I know, I know–it’s inhuman, isn’t it? Well, if the only stress we’re causing is your having to decide which of these RV trips you want to take this summer, I can’t feel that sorry for you. Now sit back, check out these destinations, and get to deciding where to park that RV and experience the natural beauty of this great country!
If “must have spectacular view” is on your list of requirements for a summer getaway, then this may be the place for you. Kalaloch is an RV park/campsite located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific in Olympic National Park in Washington. Online reservations will be accepted for June 20 through September 3, 2013; the rest of the year, the park is first come, first served.
2. River’s Edge RV Park
There’s a reason this RV park, part of River’s Edge Resort, was given a mention by the Travel Channel in 2010. Actually, there are multiple reasons: It’s located in gorgeous Fairbanks, Alaska, it’s within shuttle bus distance of numerous attractions, and there are miles of hiking and biking trails in the area. And when River’s Edge uses the words “full service property,” they mean it. Should you and your significant other feel like starting your life together while on the road, the River’s Edge Resort conference center is even capable of hosting your wedding!
3. The RV Park at Mill Creek Ranch Resort
The RV Park at Mill Creek Ranch Resort is the recipient of numerous awards and has been mentioned by USA Today as one of the best RV parks in the country, and for good reason. Located in Canton, Texas, this is a park with a lot to offer, including the ability to accommodate a variety of different RVs and pop-ups and all the amenities one would expect in a top-tier park and then some (full hook-ups for water, sewer, and electric; Wi-Fi internet; cable TV; a lodge with game tables, a big-screen TV, and free coffee; and a fenced dog park).
If you find yourself in Canton at the right time, you can experience First Monday Trade Days, where antique dealers and collectors, artists, craftsmen, and shoppers converge once a month to do business, chat, and rub elbows. Billed as the largest event of its kind in the world, the Trade Days take place Thursday through Sunday before the first Monday of each month.
